Software packages Draft — details pending

Five levels. Move up when the practice does.

Each level builds on the one before it. You start where you are and step up when your season says it's time — same login, same client data, no rebuilding.

LVL 01 Freshman First season. Software, training, and a preparer to call when a return gets strange. No PTIN needed
LVL 02 Sophomore You've filed a season. Now you're building a client book and need it organized. PTIN required
LVL 03 Junior Steady volume, maybe a second preparer. Adds team seats and reporting. PTIN required
LVL 04 Senior Your own EFIN, your own login, bank products under your own name. EFIN required
LVL 05 Service Bureau You host and support other preparers. Transmitter tools and downline reporting. Bureau agreement

Who's behind it

"I built the practice first. Everything we teach here is what I actually do every season."

Aundrea Wilson runs Thee Tax Lab as a working practice, not a case study. The Academy curriculum, the software levels, and the support desk all come out of the same office that files returns for real clients — which is why partners get answers from people who've handled the situation before.

Before you apply

Common questions.

Not for Level 01 — the Academy walks you through getting one. Every level above that requires an active PTIN in your name.

The Academy teaches you how to prepare returns and run a practice. The software packages are the tools you use to do it. Most partners start with the Academy and add a package before their first season.

Only while you're getting established. Level 04 puts you on your own EFIN with your own login and your own bank product agreements. The whole ladder is built to get you there, not to keep you underneath us.

No. The $200 setup is one time, at the start of your partnership. After that you're on your monthly package only.

Season starts sooner than you think

Built to last a career, not a season.

Applications are reviewed year round. The earlier you're onboarded, the more of the season you get to work — and the sooner you're building something that holds.
